$152,000 Workers’ Compensation settlement
Settlement of a Workers’ Compensation claim on behalf of an injured police officer. The officer sustained a herniated disc in his neck requiring a cervical fusion surgery. Following surgery, the officer suffered from a condition known as “pseudarthrosis” where the bones involved in a fusion surgery fail to fuse. As a result of this condition, the officer was unable to return to work as a police officer. He was granted a disability pension through his department. The settlement of the Workers’ Compensation claim was structured so as to minimize any offset to his pension.
