Settlement of Workers’ Compensation Claim for $412,000

Client slipped and fell on ice while walking in her employer’s parking lot. She sustained an injury to her left knee which required surgery. Following surgery, she developed a condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in her leg. This condition causes severe ongoing pain in the afflicted area. She was unable to return to work as a result of the debilitating pain. She also developed depression and anxiety as a result of her condition. She was eventually deemed permanently unable to return to work based upon a combination of her symptoms. Settlement involved calculation of an approved, Medicare Set Aside to allocate for necessary future medical treatment.
