Settlement of stroke injury Workers’ Compensation claim for $485,000

In this case, an Injured worker sustained a carotid artery dissection as a result of strenous overhead work during the course of his employment. As a result of the carotid artery dissection, the worker sustained multiple strokes. The strokes caused brain damage that prevented the worker from returning to the work place. He was ultimately deemed to be totally permanently disabled. The settlement included a managed Medicare Set Aside as part of arrangement to pay for ongoing cognitive treatment and future healthcare needs.
